Details:

Impressive earthworks remain within an embanked enclosure in a field called Perry Court. The site appears to be a manor house but as yet no documentary evidence. {1}

Field contains regular rectangular ditch divisions and a probable steading platform on the N side. {2}

The earthworks are enclosed by a ditch 5m wide and up to 1m deep which forms an angle on the NW corner. The site is very wet and has been cut up by farm machinery. {3}

Generally in good condition under grass apart from an area close to the gateway that is deeply rutted. {5}

The E gateway is still very churned up and some rubble has been put down in an attempt to alleviate the problem. The grass cover is generally good and unbroken with some spreading patches of nettles, although machinery has been regularly crossing the monument. A manure heap lies along the NW boundary of the field and after heavy rain there is standing water in many of the hollows. {6}

Scheduling affirmed with new national number (was Somerset 497) on March 14 2000. {7}
