Details:

Complex of field banks with three enclosures. Circular embanked and ditched enclosure SW of present farmhouse at ST27380837. Consists of a bank and ditch on the E side with stone incorporated and is reflected in a stone field bank on the N side. The W side is ploughed out but traces of it are visible on APs. Except for the shape, little to suggest a prehistoric site although the surrounding field system and ridge and furrow extend over the SW corner. Third enclosure at ST27430895 seen on AP with diameter c40m. House platforms also around the farm forming a shrunken village. {2}

Defences consist of a rubble bank 3m wide and 1m high with an external ditch 6m wide and 0.5m deep on the E side. {5}

Enclosure diameter 100m. Likely to be Iron Age-Romano-British homestead. Second enclosure to NE of the farm at ST27550874 c50m diameter but very damaged. {6}

Other banks up to 2m high make field system. {7}

Map showing field names in 1800 and possible pattern of growth. {8}
