"But some outlying hamlets of ancient days have entirely disappeared such as Luckington". Survey of 1571 showed that it consisted of one farm and diverse tenements and cottages with arable lands in north and south field. Village comprised houses grouped around a manor house (possibly on the site of the farm) with a chapel mentioned in 1301. Foundations of the chapel in the stables. A fragment of stained glass is said to have been found there. {1}
