An evaluation was undertaken in advance of redevelopment of the rear of the garden at 22 Chamberlain Street, Wells. A considerable depth of primarily post medieval deposits have accumulated within the confines of the walled garden. Despite a suspected medieval origin of the plot no medieval features or finds were recorded. It is suggested that the rear of this plot has always been utilised as a garden. {1}
