Archaeological evaluation of an area to the south of the bank of the hillfort (PRN 33351) before the construction of a new communications mast located the end of a large feature which is probably the infilled ditch. The only dating evidence was one C19 sherd from the upper fills suggesting that the already silted ditch was deliberately filled after that date. {1}

An evaluation undertaken by the Oxford Archaeological Unit, on behalf of Orange Personal Communications Services Limited revealed a large feature of uncertain date and several geological features. The feature could be the ditch of the hillfort or associated with the construction of a field bank to the north of the site. {4}
